Car Woes

Ugh, I don't know what to do, my car has been broken down for about a year, and I can't afford to get it fixed, I hate to have to sell it as a junk car, but my apartments are going to have it towed soon if I don't do something. I need help :(

It doesn't start, just makes noise when I turn the key, someone told me they thought it might be the fuel pump.
I bought this car brand new 10 years ago, I paid thousands for it in it's life and I really hate to get rid of it,
especially since I can't afford a new one, living on a very low fixed income.

  5. try pumping the accelator a little as you turn the key (becareful not to keep your foot down though or you'll flood the engine) what sort of noise does it make?

  6. What i usually do is take it to a mechanic to see what the problem is, (it usually costs about 100 to 300 to find the problem) Once I know what the problem is, I just buy the repair manual for the entire car and fix the part. It is far cheaper than repairing by mechanic, and especially if your good with mechanical things.

  10. Sorry to hear about the car. That bites. Ive had car problems in the past, but have been lucky enough they were minor and I could fix myself.

  16. Yeah my options are the car gets towed, aka tow company charges you out the nose for towing and "storage" basically they have license to steal your car if they tow it, and if you can't pay they then get to do whatever they want with it.

or sell it for a couple hundred dollars. I just don't see any other solutions.

  17. That really really sucks, hopefully this blog can help raise awareness and then, maybe, some kind generous person will donate a large sum to help your woes.

    Best of luck!
